The Storm S2R is the entry point to a rangefinding thermal riflescope. It pairs a 256x192 sensor with thermal sensitivity under 25 mK and a 25 mm F1.0 lens for 3.5x base magnification, 1-4x digital zoom and a 1,422 yard detection range. The built-in laser rangefinder measures to 1,312 yards and feeds an onboard ballistic calculator with five zeroing profiles. A 1024x768 AMOLED display, 32 GB of recording memory, Wi-Fi to the RIX+ app and a replaceable 18650 battery round it out. The aluminum alloy body weighs 0.9 lb, is IP67 rated and handles 1000g of recoil. Ships with a Picatinny QD mount and two batteries. 3 year warranty.
Compact 256 Thermal
A 12 micron 256x192 sensor at 50 Hz keeps motion smooth and the image clean in fog or humidity. The 25 mm F1.0 lens gives a wide 7.0 x 5.3 degree view at 3.5x, well suited to hog and coyote work inside a few hundred yards.
Rangefinder and Ballistics
Aim, press, and the S2R returns a distance to 1,312 yards with 1.09 yard accuracy. The reading feeds the built-in ballistic calculator, which shows a corrected hold for your load. Five profiles store different rifles.
Reticles and Picture in Picture
32 reticle combinations (8 styles in 4 colors) are selectable on the scope, and the rangefinder readout position and style can be adjusted in the app. Picture-in-Picture shows a magnified view of the center of the image while the main view stays at 1x.
Recording and RIX+ App
32 GB of built-in storage records photo and video at 1024x768. Recoil Activated Video saves a clip automatically when the scope detects the shot. Built-in Wi-Fi connects to the RIX+ app on iOS and Android for live view, downloads and firmware updates.
Power
A swappable 18650 battery runs about 4.5 hours at 72 F, and the USB-C port accepts 5V external power or a battery pack.
Built for the Field
IP67 waterproof, rated for -4 F to 122 F and 1000g of recoil. The Picatinny QD mount drops onto AR and bolt rifles without a separate purchase, and at 6.0 inches it also works as a handheld scanner.
